EWS 37417 Richard Trevithick and 37401 were in charge of Compass Tour's The Heart of Wales Explorer, heading from Blackburn to Cardiff via Warrington, Chester, Wrexham, Shrewsbury and the scenic Heart of Wales line (to Llanelli).

Plenty of hellfire thrash was produced from the two locos, and could easily be enjoyed from the front coach, where I was.

At Cardiff, there were First Great Western HST's, Cross Country Turbostars, and Arriva Bubblecar 121 DMU number 121032 working the Cardiff Queen Street to Cardiff Bay services.

Thanks go to Kiyran Burke and Nathan Bridge of Station End Productions, and all other bashers who were on board, for a great day's bashing.
